Job Description
This is a remote position.
Seeking IDMS DB2 Database Administrator for remote, Part-time contract. Will provide backup support for application DB2 and IDMS DBA's for some of the state's largest mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train less knowledgeable employees in the day-to-day activities required to maintain the DBMS software and processes. The candidate will be well versed in process management and review looking for opportunities of continuous improvement.
This individual should have greater than 10 years experience in DB2z Systems.
Requirements
Required skills:
• Install and customize IBM DB2 and third-party software using SMP/E or vendor specific installation.
• Install and customize CA-IDMS and third-party software with vendor specific installation.
• Provide technical direction within the team.
• Provide mentoring to others inside and outside the team Research and evaluate software products.
• Ensure 24x7x365 Business reliability, availability, and scalability Support of Capacity Planning, Disaster Recover, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of components of z/OS operating system, CICS/TS, DB2, IDMS, TSO.
• Comprehensive knowledge of z/Enterprise server technology Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Able to install and integrate third-party software.
• Able to document troubleshoot problems and communicate with technical personnel at all levels.
• Able to assist with database level work.
Nice to Have:
CA-DB2 Application DBA experience. Managing Database objects.
CA-IDMS Experience
