Atria Health partners with Cardiology practices to improve patient care, physician satisfaction, and operational effectiveness by continuous improvement of their existing practices and launching new ventures. Atria Health has a partnership with AMS Cardiology, a leading cardiology practice in the Horsham, PA area.
Atria Health opened a new integrated outpatient center with AMS Cardiology in January. This location allows us to offer state-of-the-art technology and service quality to patients at a location which is convenient and cost efficient. This location includes an Intensive Cardiac Rehab (ICR) program which will help patients recover from and prevent life-threatening conditions. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team to take on a supporting role, working alongside Lead Dietitian, in our nutritional behavioral change program within the ICR. We would like this position to begin in a part-time capacity with an ability to transition to fulltime status when patient caseload necessitates it.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform one-to-one nutrition consultations with enrolled patients including dietary and behavioral changes based upon current and/or prior health history
- Present workshops, facilitate group discussions and provide hands-on learning experiences to patients
- Advise patients on nutritional principles and how to effectively implement these principles into their personal lifestyle
- Consult with physicians and inter-disciplinary team to help coordinate and continually update patients’ individual treatment plan (ITP) as needed.
- Present weekly cooking school workshopsto include all sourcing and preparation of ingredients and cooking of recipes in onsite demonstration kitchen to live patient audience; RD to serve as SME on culinary techniques and adaptions for varying patient cooking skill levels
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Up-to-date knowledge of current nutrition trends and fads, food products, and food safety/precautions
- Experience teaching in group settings, coaching, counseling, problem-solving, and applying motivational interviewing techniques
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Very comfortable and knowledgeable in the kitchen
- Personal dietetics philosophies align with promoting a Pritikin plant-based diet
- Registered Dietitian, Licensed in Pennsylvania
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
- Previous experience with cardiac patients preferred but not required
Proposed Working Schedule:
- Mondays – 7:30am-4pm
- Wednesday –12pm-4pm
- Thursday – 8am-12pm
- Friday – 7:30am-4pm
