POSITION DESCRIPTION

IBS Parts Assistant

EMPLOYEE: Name DEPARTMENT:

POSITION GRADE: TBD HIRE DATE: Date

SUMMARY: Reporting to the IBS Manager, the IBS Parts Assistant will support shop operations at IBS location and positively represent Walker Auto Stores, ensuring technicians within the assigned shop have the right part on time. The IBS Parts Assistant must foster a culture of professionalism and parts expertise, and should demonstrate integrity, strong business ethics, honesty and fairness at all times with customers, striving towards 100% customer satisfaction.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Demonstrate the Walker culture of building partnerships with customers.

  1. Learn to be proficient and demonstrate a working knowledge of customer specific software.

  1. Communicate effectively with customers on a wide variety of issues including orders, delivery, returns, refurbishment and warranty parts.

  1. Actively participates and contributes to team meetings.

  1. Adhere to all safety requirements as per Safety policy.

  1. Clean Hubb filter cartridges daily as needed.

  1. Support accurate and timely completion of required paperwork.

  1. Participate in company training events and utilize NapaTraining.com.

  1. Contribute to effective shop operations - cleanliness, well stocked, technicians served promptly and professionally with a professional appearance, correct parts are delivered promptly to customers.

  1. Serve as the primary contact for IBS customers. Listen, take notes, and address the customer’s needs quickly.

  1. Ensure our customers are serviced in a manner that makes them feel they are heard, appreciated, and part of the family.

  1. Address customer sales/service questions and problems quickly. Trouble shoot and make recommendations to meet customer needs.

  1. Maintain strong product knowledge of auto parts, warranties, promotions, and sales programs??

  1. Network with other stores to obtain parts for customers, utilize the product line personnel provided by NAPA??

  1. Ensure that inventory is properly protected and accounted for within the IBS location.

  1. Partner with all members of Walker Auto when product/service issues arise.

  1. Report all inventory issues to the IBS manager.

  1. Participate in quarterly inventory control initiatives and report any product shown on hand and is not on the shelf per company procedure.

  1. Performs other duties as required within the scope of the IBS operation.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;

  1. A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Auto Parts.

License/Certification:

  1. Valid Driver’s License with 4 year clean driving record

  1. Required to become certified by Wake County to operate a forklift.

KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Basic knowledge of parts and auto services

  1. Proficiently use TAMS computer system, cataloguing, PartsPRO SEIi, Office 365 and NAPA training.

  1. Customer service knowledge

  1. Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers;

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Duties may be performed in an indoor or outdoor setting. The employee will be required to travel to various sites. Must be able to work weekends and evenings as required. The noise level in the work environment is frequently moderate to loud. The employee may further be required to:

Stand and be on feet for 6-8 hours.

Lift a maximum of 50 pounds from floor to truck bed height (3-4 ft)

Bend and lift 30 pounds from floor to overhead 5-10 times daily.

Ability to squat and work at 1-3 ft height for extended periods.

Bend and twist 20-30 times daily while carrying a load of 20 pounds.

Utilize Material Handling Equipment.

Work in non-temperature controlled environments.

Not be under influence of any medicine/drugs prescribed or otherwise that might impair driving, judgement, or reaction time.
