Position Summary
The I-Series Developer develops and supports RPG applications required to improve the company systems. Gather and analyze information required to implement and modify business systems with emphasis on financial systems.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and support software using RPG and other data integration tools.
- Learn to write programs and procedures in LANSA, which is a modernization tool used with the iSeries.
- Prepare specifications for new and improved systems.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and independently find solutions.
- Work with users, managers, other programmers, and consultants/contractors throughout the company.
Requirements
Experience and Education
- Minimum of 5 years of experience RPG/ILE programming with a proven track record of successful design, development, and implementation of financial systems.
- AS/AA or BA/BS degree in engineering, business or programming is helpful.
- Exceptional operations management and technical programming skills
- LANSA experience a plus
- PRMS experience a plus
- Working knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, or any graphic language a plus
- Strong desire to learn new techniques and find ways to take the company systems to the next level.
