JOB DESCRIPTION: CDL - A OPERATOR
The CDL - A Operator may drive and operate the following commercial vehicles: Tanker, Vacuum, End Dump, Side Dump, Hydrovac and Roll Off.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
- Pick-up and safely transport goods to the intended destination
- Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
- Assist in mapping driving routes
- Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
- Communicate with dispatch as needed
- Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
- Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
- Maintain and service vehicles as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
- Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Track and report working hours
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
- Comply with DOT regulations
- Make safety a priority at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDL-Class A with Tanker Endorsement
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company Insurance
- Acceptable driving record with license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a CDL driver.
- Knowledge of oilfield related tools and equipment
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Ability to follow directions and be part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education; some college preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Confined Space Certified Entrant/Attendant
TRAINING:
- PEC Safeland
- H2S Clear
- Fit Test
- Strength and agility test
- One Basin/One Way
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to shovel and move/load/unload/work with 2” – 12” hoses.
- Position requires long periods of standing, shoveling, climbing up and down stairs repeatedly and the ability to work long hours if necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS:
- Work will be performed outdoors in ALL weather conditions including sub-zero temperatures.
- Potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and moving machinery and exposure to chemicals and loud noises.
