Hydroelectric Power Plant Station Operator

A local company is seeking a plant operator to join our team who will be responsible for operation and maintenance activities of our automated hydroelectric generating stations located in Ogdensburg, NY.

Duties include inspection and operation of hydroelectric generating facilities and associated maintenance work. This is a full time position and pay will be on an hourly basis. On call rotation is required.

We are looking for a candidate with:

-- Experience with rotating machinery (2-5 five years experience is preferred)

-- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro-mechanical systems

-- Ability to read drawings

REQUIREMENTS:

-- Associates Degree or equivalent experience and/or education in mechanical field

-- Minimum of Two (2) years work experience in a related field preferred

-- Able to respond to alarm calls, including after hours when on call

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-- Monitor all aspects of hydroelectric plant operations

-- Perform preventive and required maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment problems ( once trained)

-- Assist technicians as required with Inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of turbines, generators, and other equipment; make repairs as needed

-- Maintain knowledge of plant operation best practices and safety protocols
