Established in 2023, New Carrot Company, operating under the name Bolthouse Fresh Foods, is headquartered in the California Central Valley community of Bakersfield. Specializing in carrot production, the company caters to both retail and food service operations and is renowned for its Bolthouse Farms brand, widely distributed in major retailers across the United States and Canada.

Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a subsidiary of Butterfly Equity, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with a specialty in the food sector. Butterfly Equity's expertise spans the entire food value chain, from 'seed to fork,' with a focus on agriculture & aquaculture, food & beverage products, food distribution, and foodservice.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for maintaining and rebuilding misc. hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and components in primarily a shop environment. This person will assist the department Lead and Assistant Manager by performing general maintenance, repairs and rebuilds on miscellaneous hydraulic equipment from plant, AG, industrial and any other area.
  • Be a technical leader in maintaining hydraulic equipment throughout the company
  • Work directly and cooperate with the department Supervisors and Managers to accomplish project goals as needed
  • Disassemble and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, and related parts
  • Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment problems and identifying issues
  • Assemble new hydraulic parts and actively maintain hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain clean shop areas and job sites at all times
  • Keep the department Lead informed of day to day production and maintain quality control of finished product
  • Maintain a variety of equipment and tools to ensure their safe operation
  • Perform timely check-out/check-in of hours worked
  • Operate stationary and moving overhead cranes, forklifts, and any equipment needed to perform a job within safety guidelines
  • Load and unload equipment
  • Pick-up and deliver equipment and parts to outside vendors
  • Complete required equipment repairs
  • Complete Parts Order forms
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Will work with high integrity and complies with corporate guidelines on business ethics
  • Follow company and department rules and policies
  • Must be able to work as a team and follow instructions
  • Participation in all training programs
  • Punctual and have an excellent attendance record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts
  • Experienced in troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and repairing hydrostatic drive systems
  • Must be a team player with strong work ethics
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and sketches
  • Ability to assist in properly planning, scheduling of projects in advance
  • Pass Forklift certification written and practical test
  • Pass Fall Protection test
  • Pass Aerial lift written and practical test

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of previous experience in hydraulic environment
  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Basic or formal equipment industry training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 + years hydraulic experience, troubleshooting repairing and performing preventive maintenance
  • Prior experience in electrical and electronics a plus
  • Prior agricultural farm equipment repair experience a plus
  • Previous experience in “Total Process Reliability” (TPR) maintenance a plus
  • Entry level leadership/supervisory experience is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to work in tight areas that require lifting and bending
  • Ability to climb up and down on large equipment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally will be lifting up to 50 pounds
