The Accounting & SEC ReportingSenior Analyst is a critical member of the accounting and finance organization, performing accounting, reporting, and analysis activities. Working with the reporting team and wider business, this position will take the lead for the accurate preparation of the financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
As this position requires strong and effective cross-functional responsibilities, the role will allow for visibility and collaboration with the executive team. This position requires superior writing, documentation, quality control practices, and exceptional organizational skills to manage and mobilize a financial reporting close process that adheres to strict reporting timeframes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements (including footnotes and managements discussion and analysis) provided to external stakeholders, other financial information provided to regulatory agencies, and financial information provided to senior management
- Review and validate information in investor reports, earnings releases, and similar documents
- Maintain and own the established IT integration strategy between ledger and financial reporting
- Ensure that supporting workpapers are prepared clearly and concisely and comply with controls over financial reporting
- Develop competence in assigned areas and in technical accounting, SEC rules, and develop knowledge of the organization processes
- Support corporate financing activities
- Complete special projects as necessary
Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Workiva is a plus
- Financial accounting and analytical abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and to remain calm and patient within compressed timelines
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting or financial reporting experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance degree
- Public Accounting experience within a large firm with SEC and/or power industry clients is a plus
