Job Title: HVAC Warehouse Attendant
Summary:
An HVAC Warehouse Attendant plays a vital role in supporting the operations of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) company or department. They are responsible for managing the inventory of HVAC equipment and supplies, assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or manual tracking systems.
2. Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments of HVAC equipment and supplies. Inspect items for damage, verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders, and report any discrepancies to supervisors or vendors as needed.
3. Order Fulfillment: Prepare orders for delivery or pickup by accurately picking HVAC equipment and parts from inventory. Package items securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation according to company procedures.
4. Stock Organization: Arrange HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies in the warehouse according to established storage protocols. Utilize shelving, racks, and other storage solutions to optimize space and facilitate easy access to items.
5. Equipment Handling: Safely handle and move HVAC equipment using appropriate lifting and material handling equipment, such as hand trucks, pallet jacks. Adhere to safety guidelines to prevent accidents and damage to equipment.
6. Inventory Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and reorder HVAC supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels. Coordinate with purchasing or procurement personnel to replenish inventory in a timely manner.
7. Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as sweeping floors, disposing of packaging materials, and inspecting storage equipment for signs of wear or damage.
8. Quality Control: Ensure that HVAC equipment and parts are stored and handled properly to prevent damage or deterioration. Follow manufacturer guidelines for storage and handling to maintain product quality.
9. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and stock adjustments. Complete paperwork or electronic documentation as required for inventory management and reporting purposes.
10. Collaboration: Collaborate with other warehouse staff, including supervisors, drivers, and technicians, to coordinate activities and support overall departmental goals. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Positive driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in the HVAC or construction industry.
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to warehouse operations.
