Hvac Technician Instructor, West Sound Technical Skills Center

HVAC Technician Instructor position is at West Sound Technical Skills Center for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
Position will begin on January 29, 2024.

The pay for this position will be determined by the number of days that the individual ends up working. At the most, it will be half of the school year.
All 2023-2024 teacher base contracts are 183 days. Supplemental calculation based on 15 hours (2 days) for one staff development days and one non-student/data assessment day.
(example: 1.0 FTE Beginning teacher at step BA-0 with zero years experience: Certificated Base Salary $61,080 + $668 for supplemental = $61,748). There are 3 additional days that can be earned for Staff Development (not reflected in the above calculation).

JOB DESCRIPTION - TEACHER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The classroom teacher will work collaboratively with other building staff members to develop and motivate each student toward an awareness and understanding of the subject matter and/or skills needed to develop into mature, well rounded, responsible young adults. The teacher will establish positive rapport with students and will encourage them to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for future success.
Reports to and evaluated by: Building Principal or Designee
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide an optimum learning environment for all students

• Participate in, contribute to, and be supportive of group decisions and efforts
  • Collaborate with staff and work in teams to provide instruction to students
  • Employ a systematic instructional process designed to meet the needs of students in the classroom
  • Engage in purposeful, deliberate planning for instruction
  • Follow District and State guidelines for essential learning and instructional strategies
    • Work cooperatively with administration and staff in problem solving and group process activities
    • Model lifelong learning, positive self-esteem, and respect for others
    • Set and maintain high personal, professional, and instructional standards for self and students
    • Adhere to Washington Code of Professional Conduct
    • Perform other related duties as required or requested
