Hvac Technician

In this unique role blending your HVAC and Controls knowledge, you will be responsible for starting and commissioning new systems, diagnosing, and repair of environmental control systems, utilizing knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques within the school system. You will coordinate with the leadership and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work as well as giving updates on all diagnosed electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. You will be a crucial part of the emergency response team and help out with any HVAC related emergencies.

Schedule: Full Time

Starting Pay: $22.50/hour

Education and Experience Required:

High school diploma, or equivalent – 2 years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling – 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline. Must have one of the following; Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License etc. Ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally. Reads and understands blueprints and schematics.

Equipment, Machine, or Manual Skills Required:

Valid driver’s license, Good physical condition and a general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment. A demonstrated skill in one trade and basic understanding of other trades acquired through similar on-the-job training. Ability to operate motorized tools and hand tools in a variety of trades.
