Central Vacuum Technician/Installer
Summary: As a Central Vacuum Technician/Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of central vacuum systems in residential and commercial settings. This role involves assessing sites, assembling components, conducting tests, and providing excellent customer service.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install central vacuum systems according to manufacturer guidelines and local building codes.
- Conduct on-site assessments to determine optimal locations for power units, inlets, and tubing systems.
- Assemble and connect tubing, power units, and accessories to create a fully functional central vacuum system.
- Perform wiring to connect power units and control panels, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure the proper functioning of central vacuum systems.
- Address any issues identified during testing and ensure quality assurance.
- Provide routine maintenance services, including filter replacement, motor checks, and overall system inspections.
- Diagnose and repair central vacuum systems, replacing or repairing components as needed.
- Instruct clients on the proper use and maintenance of their central vacuum systems.
- Provide guidance on troubleshooting common issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Document parts used, services provided, and any recommendations for system upgrades.
- Stay informed about advancements in central vacuum technology.
- Recommend and implement system upgrades to enhance performance and energy efficiency.
- Interact with customers professionally and courteously.
- Address questions or concerns promptly and provide exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards during all installations and repairs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a central vacuum technician or installer.
- Strong knowledge of central vacuum systems, including tubing layout, power units, and accessories.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and wiring practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move equipment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Fluent in Spanish is required.
Compensation:
- $25-$30 an hour depending on experience.
