Job Description

The HVAC Sales Engineer will work with current DVL Thermal Sales Engineers and Coordinators and sell our range of thermal products to end user accounts, contractors, consulting engineers, general contractors, and construction managers. There will be collaboration and training with DVL Sales Engineers and valuable technical training with highly skilled HVAC/R Service Technicians. This opportunity will involve taking responsibility for the entire sales project, from canvassing for leads to conception, budgeting, quoting, strategizing, negotiating, closing & overseeing the project to completion. The Sales Engineer will receive a named account list comprised of existing end-users, targeted end-users, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and construction managers.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Learn how to configure, quote, and sell Liebert thermal products, Liebert thermal upgrade kits, and any thermal product from represented manufacturers
  • Become able to create and deliver persuasive strategic and technical presentations that provide DVL a competitive advantage in the market
  • Train to develop and maintain expertise in configuring thermal management systems and be capable of presenting such solutions to customers of varying technical knowledge
  • Train to develop and maintain relationships with end-users to enhance our product sales and generate turnkey opportunities
  • Learn how to read and interpret project documentation that may include bid specifications, technical drawings, and contract qualifications
  • Eventually manage and maintain existing customer relationships as the account owner. This includes keeping current on all installed products and contracted services and ensuring the account is updated on new solution offerings
  • Eventually build and establish end-user relationships, and understand they are the core of our business
  • Nurture and develop new assigned customers by demonstrating the ability to offer unique and beneficial solutions offered by DVL
  • Develop a network of engineers and contractors that can be used to offer turnkey solutions to end-users
  • Collaborate and engage with peer sales associates to enhance solution offerings
  • Develop and maintain a professional network by participating in professional organizations aligned with our industry
  • Learn how to maintain a current project forecast, account contacts and pertinent customer data in our CRM system
  • Collaborate, engage, and participate with manufacturers sales and product support people
  • Embrace the mission critical industry by electing to participate in professional organizations such as AFCOM, 7x24 Exchange, Data Center Dynamics, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degree required to communicate in engineering terms with customers/engineers
    • If no Engineering degree: High school degree/GED required and at least 4 years of recent and relevant successful commercial HVAC Sales experience in the Central PA Market
  • Experience or interest in technical sales selling thermal products and services
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar for preparation of technical materials that may include product schematics, single-line diagrams, or design & performance drawings
  • Ability to technically communicate with all levels of a customer account including the executive level
  • Able to initiate a sales project from development to closure
  • Good listening skills and the desire to solve complex technical problems
  • High level of Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Valid Driver’s License required to drive to customer sites

The salary-draw pay range is $70,000-100,000 plus commission based on relevant experience. Additionally $13,500 annual car allowance, laptop, and iPhone included.
