Pay: $100,000 to $125,000 per year USD (as listed on the job requisition)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Manager - Technical Solutions
Responsible for the coordination and completion of HVAC, Lighting and Energy projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. May require a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in HVAC mechanical, lighting, electrical testing and engineering services field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to area operations manager.
General Responsibilities
The Project Manager is directly responsible for the production of services on and the financials of their assigned projects.
The Project Manager is responsible for directing personnel assigned to their projects and will make routine decisions in connection with matters pertaining to their assigned projects.
The Project Manager's involvement in the execution (field service) of projects will be limited; however, the Project Manager will initiate many of the decisions. When resources are limited, the Project Manager will provide support in the execution (field service) of projects.
The Project Managers activities will tend to be relatively short, varied, fragmented, sometimes self-initiated, often externally initiated (more reactive than proactive).
The Project Manager will be responsible for representing the company to its clients.
The Project Manager will undertake business trips as necessary and work beyond normal hours in view of a higher quantum of work.
Specific Responsibilities Daily and As Required
Facilitate with business development. Support sales representatives in bid meetings, bid walks, and development of proposals.
Participate in sales-to-service hand offs.
Manage client relationships upon receipt of orders.
Coordinate with project coordinator on project initiations.
Collaborate with project management team to develop project teams and assign personnel to projects.
Coordinate with field supervisors on project planning and execution.
Send project kick off emails to project teams.
Perform and/or participate in project kick off meetings.
Coordinate with field supervisors on equipment assignments to projects.
Coordinate with field supervisors on project activity.
Review project activity reports submitted by field supervisors.
Monitor projects to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness and to ensure they are completed within budget/deadline.
Coordinate with field supervisor on work scope variances and change orders.
Facilitate as necessary to ensure the success of projects.
Assist field supervisor with project challenges. Escalate personnel issues to area operations manager.
Review field service reports to ensure technical accuracy and clarity and to identify additional business opportunities.
Submit field service reports to clients.
Review and approve subcontractor and client invoices.
Prepare account modifications for pickups/losses as necessary.
Coordinate with project coordinator on closure of projects.
Perform project debriefs.
Review and update project schedule and reconcile with personnel schedule.
Weekly
Participate in management, planning, safety and WIP meetings.
Generate weekly project summaries and review with area operations manager.
Work with area operations manager and sales representatives to provide input pertaining to department.
Communicate with fellow managers to ensure organizational regularity and uniformity.
Coordinate with project coordinator on invoicing, past dues and collections.
Update backlog report.
Monthly
Participate in Ops and SSP Meeting.
Generate monthly project summary (closed orders, active orders, unfilled orders, pending and potential orders).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS *
Preferred - 3 years of experience in the HVAC mechanical, lighting, electrical testing, and engineering services field or in a related area.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, procedures, and project management software and other software management tools
Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Available nights and weekends as required by project schedules and business needs.
Able to travel within the Southern California Region to manage assigned projects.
