Purpose and role of job:
Assists with the support, operation, maintenance, and repair of various types of process support systems. This includes, but is not limited to, process chillers, Central AC units, Stand-alone AC units, Air make-up units, Air handlers, and Air Compressors. The schedule for this position in Monday through Friday.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
•Have working knowledge and compliance with all safety policies (PPE, LOTO, General Safe Manufacturing Practices, etc)
•The ability to oversee outside contractors to insure their safety while working at the FQN Facility
•Be a team player by treating others with respect, being constructive and tactful, communicating with your team and customers, and abiding by company practices
•Demonstrate good communication skills, both oral and written, with internal and external customers
•Demonstrate the ability to learn from various Utility-Related support vendors (HVAC and Air Compressor Systems)
Duties:
•Perform daily walkthroughs of the various Utility Areas for the purpose of identifying any items in need of repair
•Assist with the repairs of Process Chillers, Cooling Towers, HVAC systems, Air Make-ups, and Compressed air systems
•Perform minor electrical and pipefitting repairs to HVAC and Compressed air systems
•Work with various OEM's and the Senior Facilities Tech to develop a comprehensive PM Program
•Assist with performing the identified PM tasks for all Utility systems
•Assist with refrigerant recovery and system charging efforts whenever necessary
•Demonstrate the ability to fully utilize the INFOR work order system and be able to and enter and retrieve work requests and
work orders
•Demonstrate accurate record keeping and neatly complete all required paperwork
•Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so and assist others within the department
•Overtime may be required on off-shifts and weekends to satisfactorily perform duties
•Participation in both on-site and off-site training opportunities in order to gain further knowledge of various Utility systems.
Required Skills:
•Plumbing & Fitting (Ability to work with various piping systems up to 2" PVC, Copper and Carbon steel)
•Electrical Troubleshooting of various control systems related to Utility equipment
•Understanding of Centrifugal Pumps
•Perform minor rigging tasks (i.e. chain falls, block & tackle, etc.)
•Refrigerant handling & associated documentation
•Perform light, medium, and heavy lifting
•Certification in fork/hand truck operation, Scissor Lift operation, and Genie Boom operation
•Be able to utilize spare time to help meet goals and objectives in safety, quality, cost avoidance, and customer service
Experience and Education:
High school education
Minimum 3 Years of Compressed Air systems repair and maintenance
Minimum 5 Years of general HVAC Service
Current Universal Refrigerant License
