Job Title: HVAC Field Engineer

Position Overview
The HVAC Field Engineer's (Shipyard Waterfront Production Liaison Engineer) primary responsibility is to be the primary engineering point of contact for field installation and deck plate issues resolution for HVAC and Refrigeration Systems installation and commissioning for the LCS, MMSC, and eventually FFG programs.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve engineering issues during installation.
- Recommend innovative and creative engineering solutions to installation issues.
- Respond to customer and shipyard technical problems, inquiries, and changes.
- Complete modifications to engineering documentation as required and communicate changes to appropriate project engineer. Maintain drawings package in support of as-built effort as directed by Program Management.
- Resolve technical problems to meet specifications and/or regulatory requirements.
- Select design approaches that minimize cost but meet specifications and quality standards.
- Development, proposal, and implementation of relevant technology upgrades to the project information package (Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Production, IT, etc.) to benefit the flow of information to Production.
- Coordinate the flow of material to and from the yard, including requisitions.
- Write and maintain yard concerns.
- Establish and maintain a six-week material forecast. Coordinate efforts with Program Manager and Hull Manager.
- Attend meeting in yard and on ship as necessary to perform outlined duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 Years of experience. More preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
- Seeking someone with Marine engineering background or education (preferred), with Electrical, Mechanical, and HVAC systems working knowledge.
- Can Read Prints & Test Procedures in both .PDF, .DWG, .DOC, and .XLSX formats.
- Can Lift & Carry 45lbs, Climb Ladders and work in enclosed spaces. Able to work in very cold and very warm industrial environments.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Familiar with using hand tools and electrical test equipment.
- Familiar with LOTO/Tags Plus (Electrical Safety)
- Shipbuilding experience is a plus.
