An Overview
Alexandria DCHS utilizes a racial equity approach in all decision making. The Program Manager for Foster Care and Adoption is responsible for policy and program oversight of Foster Care, adoption, post adoption services, independent living services, family engagement services (Family Partnership Meetings, Fatherhood, Kinship) and the resource parent program (recruitment, training and support). The Program Manager provides leadership in the development of strategies, internal policies and procedures to enhance and improve the quality and array of agency programs and services. The Program Manager directly supervises Child Welfare Supervisors, who manage the Foster Care, Resource and Family Engagement Units, and plans, organizes and manages the work of direct Services Programs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief of Child Welfare Services. Telework may be available with appropriate consideration given to work assignment location, and in accordance with current City policy.
