Job Announcement
Under the general supervision of the Administrative Assistant IV, this position provides administrative support primarily to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Provides reception desk coverage during county business hours, greets visitors, answers incoming calls, and provides appropriate information and/or routes calls to the appropriate staff or program. Maintains schedules and reserves space for meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or GED issued by state department of education; plus three years of work experience, including two years in some area of Human Services (related two-year [associate] degree may be substituted for the required human service experience).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, child protective services, and tuberculosis test to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in a related field ex: psychology, Human Services, etc.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
- At least three years of full-time equivalent experience performing administrative assistant tasks.
- At least three years of full-time equivalent experience working with Head Start/Early Head start programs.
- At least three years of full-time equivalent experience working with a diverse population.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary in nature. However, incumbent may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment and communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings at various locations and make presentations to county staff and community. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
