Job Description:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall company strategy and plans
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews
- Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs
- Ensuring accurate and prompt processing of all payroll and payroll related functions for more than 100+ employees weekly, including hourly and salary employees and union and non-union employees
- Coordinating with managers to verify hourly employee work hours, proper deductions, and job class designations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws
- Maintaining accurate employee records while ensuring compliance with company policies, communication changes and providing guidance to employees
- Verify employment data and background checks on job applicants
- Manage benefits administration by administering employee benefits, signing employees up for the appropriate elections, answering inquires and facilitating open enrollment
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in HR, as well as relevant labor/employment laws and regulations
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
- Ensure terminations and disciplinary actions are documented accordingly
- Work closely with General Counsel/COO on HR issues, and development and implementation of company policies and procedures
- Manage unemployment compensation and FMLA
- Assist in coordinating and conducting annual performance reviews
- Maintain time, PTO, and attendance records of employees
- Prepare and maintain employee handbook alongside COO/General Counsel
- Miscellaneous duties that may be assigned by management from time to time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educ/exp. in human resources or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing; a focus on union payroll is a plus
- Strong skills in data entry, organization and multi-tasking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Substantial knowledge of employment practices, laws and regulations
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and weekly deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive, confidential employee information
- Experienced in using Microsoft Excel, Word, ADP and accounting software
- Pay is commensurate with level of experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
