Ponderosa Nurseries, Inc. which consists of landscaping and construction departments, as well as a retail Garden Center, is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources/Payroll Manager to join our growing organization and office team. The expected schedule is Monday - Friday; 25-32 hours per week. We provide a work culture that thrives on positivity, teamwork, and professionalism. Functional areas include benefits administration, employee relations, compensation and payroll, policy implementation and recruitment for as many as 50 employees.
Job Duties & Requirements:
As our HR/Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our policies and procedures in conjunction with ever changing Federal and State regulations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Administer weekly payroll process and manage integrity of payroll data
- Oversee employee benefits programs, such a medical, vision and dental, life, PFML, Workers Compensation, unemployment and 401k retirement plans
- Ensure compliance with federal and state compensation laws and regulations
- Manage relationships and performance of third-party vendors and payroll processor
- Advise company owner on pay decisions, policy interpretations and job evaluations
- Work with owner in implementing recruiting programs in the hiring of new employees
- Proficiency in creating and compiling various documents and reports, with strong attention to detail and accuracy; maintain employee personnel files
- Draft and update of documents such as job descriptions, employee handbook, performance appraisals, policies and other HR related documents
- Manages the enrollment status of new hires, terminated employees and seasonal H-2B workers
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years of office experience in HR/Payroll with a proven record of success and understanding
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; proficient user of MS Office Suite
