Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY Assists Director of Human Resources
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Prepares onboarding letters and documents for all new employees
- New Hire reporting I9, E-verify, and IN New Hire
- Add and maintain employees in employee management system
- Works with the sub calling system to manage new teacher enrollment, teacher moves, substitute enrollments
- Maintain Highly Qualified documentation for Title I paraprofessionals
- Maintain license and SPN information in corporation software
- Maintains background checks and rescreens annually
- Coordinates the internal review of teacher’s licenses, resolves licensing issues with IDOE as needed
- Assists teachers with scheduling CPR classes, QPR certification
- Prepares and completes annual updates of A20 cards for all certified staff
- Oversees Letters of Assurance for all school year employees
- Responds to all Department of Workforce Development claims
- Compiles education, personnel and compensation reports for local, state and federal agencies
- Prepare interview appointments, documentation and letters to applicants
- Compiles and submits Personnel Board Reports
- Works with Technology staff on uploading annual state-required reports
- Maintains an Indiana notary commission to witness corporation documents
- Maintains records in basement, destruction schedule, records to be digitalized
- Helps create secretary and administration calendars
- Substitute receptionist as needed
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma with 3-5 years of experience in an office setting.
SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret records, statistics, government regulations, and other written reports. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Ability to accurately work with and apply mathematical concepts as needed to complete assigned tasks. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions in oral and written form. Ability to organize large amounts of materials. Ability to work on multiple tasks. Ability to access and utilize computer software used by the department.
