Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Status: Exempt
Reports to: Tribal Administrator
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000
General Description:
This is a highly critical position requiring a unique skill set pertaining to the breadth of Human Resources management functions. As the Human Resources Manager for the Tribal Government, this position will take charge of implementing HR strategies that support the Tribe’s mission and values. The position is responsible for approximately 110 employees with a wide range of occupations, various hours including departments working 24/7, and pay ranges. The position is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. The incumbent must have valuable experience in managing all facets of HR such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, benefit programs and compliance will immensely contribute to shaping a positive and productive culture.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Functions:
· Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.).
· Manage the recruitment, interviewing and selection process.
· Ability to assess, design, implement and manage orientation and training programs.
· Demonstrated ability to handle workplace issues (disciplinary events, complaints, etc.)
· Strong leadership, analytical and decision-making skills.
· Solid communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.
· Oversee and manage a job evaluation system that drives high performance.
· Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
· Ability to manage and direct benefit programs.
· Conducts job evaluation in collaboration with the direct supervisor; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
· Understanding of Tribal, Federal, and State employment and labor laws.
· Strong knowledge and experience in policy development and documentation.
· Report to the Tribal Administrator statistical reports for management and make recommendations based on HR metrics.
· Experience in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of HR records.
· Engagement in continual learning and development in HR field.
· Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
College graduate with a BA in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, or related degree. SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred.
Experience:
Three years providing Human Resources management functions.
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and coordinate with others.
· Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and public relations.
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office or 365 Suite and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
· Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
· High energy.
· Dependability and dedicated to high achievement.
Other Requirements:
California Driver's License.
