Human Resources Manager

BEI Construction is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our growing team. This position is based at our office location in Alameda, CA and reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities & Duties:

• Monitor HR strategies, systems, and procedures across the organization.
• Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
• Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Handles employee relations and conflict resolution.
• Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Proactively seeks feedback to improve service levels and recommend relevant policy/process changes.
• Recognizes and acts on opportunities for HR to add value to the organization.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations.
• Stays up to date on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Oversee coordination of company events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years' experience in a human resource management role.
• BA/BS degree in Human Resources preferred.
• Strong understanding of compliance laws related to HR.
• Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies.
• Demonstrated expertise in training managers and employees.
• Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Must be able to handle and keep extremely sensitive information confidential.
• Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse groups of people and people on all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management system.
