Job Description
As the Human Resources Manager you will have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s success by supporting multiple facets of the Human Resources function, striving for innovation and strategic results in each area. The Human Resources Manager coordinates the implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs. Will work with management to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Acts as a strategic HR Business partner by teaming with management to accomplish the overall company objectives. In this role, you will also serve as the Office Manager and will direct the work of three office staff members.
What you’ll do:
- Function as an integral member of the plant leadership team
- Manage the administration and implementation of Human Resource programs
- Provide guidance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human resource issues
- Ensure legal compliance, fairness and consistency in areas of employment, benefit administration, employee relations, training, and performance management and compensation
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors in areas associated with HR
- Lead community involvement activities
- Lead local investigations and resolution of ongoing employee issues, anticipate issues, recommend and initiate resolutions
- Advise managers regarding compliance with Federal, State, and Local labor and employment laws
- Administer, interpret, and explain company Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs
- Applies policies and procedures consistently to ensure equity of treatment
- Coach and partner with employees, managers, and leadership teams to foster a collaborative work atmosphere
- Work with management and leadership to address and resolve employee relations issues or concerns
- Maintain employment records and ensure confidentiality of employee medical records
- Assist with recruiting by screening candidates, conducting interviews, scheduling clinical drug and health appointments, communicating with candidates throughout the recruitment process, including scheduling orientation
- Conduct employee orientation and onboarding of all new employees
- Ensure training for all employees (hourly and salaried) is being met and is consistent with corporate/facility needs. Record and maintain training records.
- Handle activities in areas of responsibility including performance and talent management, succession planning, career progression, discipline and terminations
- Coordinate with employees and managers for leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, Military Leaves, etc.
- Partner with plant leadership for Annual HR Initiatives such as compensation planning, performance management, holiday events, employee recognition/appreciation, community outreach, etc.
- Understand and utilize HR systems including but not limited to UKG Ready Time (Ultimate Kronos Group), ADP WorkforceNow, and Sterling Check (Background Screening Services)
- Facilitate and manage defined programs on employee engagement, employee development, organizational changes and employee satisfaction initiatives
- Track and review eligible employees for structured bonus programs and submit payment requests
- Understand company benefits and effectively communicate benefit plan updates or changes during annual enrollment
- Assists with Inventory for the facility
- Serves as the contact for all external vendors that are non-production related
- Provides reports, analysis, action plans, and documentation as required
- Administers basic facility functions such as maintenance of office equipment, vending services, uniform services, etc
- Administers record retention program
- Performs routine office management duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years’ of Human Resources Management experience
- 5+ years’ experience with employee relations, training, performance management and legal compliance
- We will prescreen for organized labor work
- HR experience in a Manufacturing Environment is strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, written/presentation skills and critical thinking skills
- Strong computer skills, understanding of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data base applications
- Experience in UKG, ADP, and NetSuite is desirable
- Must be able to lead and influence all levels of employees
- Must be bi-lingual in Spanish
