Coastal Family Partners is seeking a Human Resources Consultant (independent contractor) to join our team!
Summary
As our contracted Human Resources Consultantwe'll rely on you to guide the onboarding of new hires; assist with employee terminations and unemployment hearings; create and disseminate training on a variety of Human Resources and safety-related topics, provide coaching and more to support the employees of Coastal Family Partners and the overall agency.
Human Resources
- Address Human Resources concerns for both Employer as well as Employees
- Oversee the agency’s applications to secure government insurance packages
- Process all eligible benefit changes throughout the year as needed
- Develop quarterly employee safety trainings
- Responsible for guiding the facilitation of employee evaluations
- Keep all HR forms current and accessible to employees
- Make changes to Employee handbook as needed
- Review agency Human Resources policies, including employee manuals and provide recommendation for corrections
- Post employee/independent contractor vacancies on behalf of agency
- Other duties as assigned
Hiring and Termination
- Schedule interviews
- Prepare pre-hire packets for new employees
- Submit background checks for new employees
- Schedule new hire performance evaluation
- Create and maintain digital employee files
- Assist with employee terminations and conduct exit interviews
- Process new employees through E-Verify within 72 hours of hire date
- Maintain I9’s to ensure security, accuracy, and proper destruction procedures
- Research and answer any employee inquiries
- Prepare and send any necessary COBRA documents to terminated employees, when applicable
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Understand our agency’s mission and diversity of participants and employees.
MUST have at least 5 years previous experience in Human Resources and benefits administration.
MUST have at least 5 years’ experience working HR/Payroll need of nonprofits.
MUST be proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to build strong, genuine rapport with employees and leadership
Self-starter, self-motivated, able to work well under pressure
Extremely detail-oriented
Have a strong desire to provide the best in customer service
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Scheduling: Work will take place at agreed upon times between Coastal Family Partners' management and the contractor. Work must primarily take place in-person at the agency's office during working hours with the exception of occasional virtual training.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
