Trumbull Industries, Inc. has an opening for a Human Resources and Compliance Specialist role which involves a wide range of responsibilities related to HR functions, compliance management, and administrative tasks. The individual in this position would be responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to various regulations, overseeing employee benefit programs, managing documentation, and reporting, and coordinating activities related to employee well-being and compliance with legal requirements.
Essential Functions
- Conducting periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures demonstrates a focus on regulatory compliance, which is a critical aspect of the Compliance Specialist role. Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department.
- Planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the HR department reflects the broader responsibility of overseeing the Human Resources function within the organization. Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities.
- Developing, recommending, and implementing personnel policies and procedures, as well as performing benefits administration, underscores the Compliance Specialist's involvement in policy creation, maintenance, and benefits management.
- Filing EEO-1 annually and maintaining records to conform to EEO regulations indicates a commitment to diversity and adherence to equal employment opportunity laws.
- Establishing and maintaining department records, participating in health care and benefits meetings with brokers reflect responsibilities related to record-keeping, organizational communication, and benefits management.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws is a fundamental responsibility for a Compliance Specialist, demonstrating a commitment to legal and regulatory adherence.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
Competencies
- Preferred SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
- Possess in-depth knowledge and proficiency in using ADP particularly benefits management and compliance reporting & Payroll Processing (backup)
- Preferred Notary Public
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree and three years of human resource experience, or five years of experience in the HR field.
