The HeartLand Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is dedicated to helping our talented team succeed in achieving organizational goals: consistent operational execution, high employee engagement and exceptional client relations with our operating companies. The HRBP works closely with HeartLand leadership and operating company management as its internal HR Champion by assessing and anticipating HR-related needs; communicating proactively; working in close collaboration with HeartLand HR Leadership and operating company HR and Leadership; reflecting the HR objectives of the organization; effectively implementing HR policies and procedures; providing HR Business Partner services and support in accordance with applicable laws.
Primary areas of responsibility include guest worker program administration, mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration, regulatory, legal compliance and employment practices administration, employee relations and performance management, benefits administration, and Human Resources E-Learning development and implementation. The Human Resources Business Partner will also serve as the right-hand person for the HeartLand Director of Human Resources and will be assigned a variety of key projects spanning a wide range of Human Resources disciplines.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and communicate executive summaries on all HR, Safety & Risk, and Training & Development considerations of acquisition target companies under LOI.
- Works with the M&A team and the unified Human Resources team to develop and coordinate the HR integration work of all new HeartLand operating companies.
- Assist HeartLand or operating company with any government or regulatory audits.
- Ensure operational compliance with EEOC throughout all operating companies and provide reporting as required.
- Administer EEO-1 recordkeeping and regulatory reporting.
- Assist employees with job-related issues and concerns, by providing counsel and guidance as appropriate.
- Collaborate with HeartLand Director of Human Resources, thoroughly investigate and document employee concerns, employee relations or performance management issues in accordance with HR policies.
- Assist with the administration of employee recognition programs.
- Conduct exit interviews, track, and report findings, and advise if corrective action may be appropriate. Monitor unemployment claims and assist departments with appeals.
- Facilitate new hire and annual open enrollment for HeartLand employees.
- Lead open enrollment process for existing and new operating companies providing onsite assistance as necessary.

- Preferably have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- 3+ years progressive experience across all Human Resources disciplines.
