Who We Are:
The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, (MAPMG) is one of the nation's premier multispecialty medical groups and is the largest integrated medical group in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1980, the medical group has more than 1,700 Permanente physicians spanning more than 50 subspecialties. Together, we serve approximately 800,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia at 34 area medical centers, plus several community hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
About the Internship Program:
The internship program at MAPMG is a paid 12-week (or longer) program taking place year-round that is designed to expose undergraduate and graduate students to a wide range of career opportunities in the healthcare field with valuable professional skills that can be transferred to any occupation or industry. The internship program provides undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in health care systems, data analysis, consulting, project management, and strategic planning the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a professional environment.
Students selected for internships gain on-the-job training that integrates education and career development. They will work directly with a mentor, who will provide supervision and mentoring. Together, the intern and mentor will develop an internship plan identifying specific projects or assignments to ensure a meaningful learning experience.
Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) team is looking to hire an intern to provide support on a variety of HR analytics projects. This internship will provide the student with the ability to gain on-the-job exposure in HR analytics through real-world HR projects and the mentoring support of the HRMS Manager. The HRMS Intern will assist with employee data analysis and modeling, HR audit support, HRIS enhancements/upgrades, and special projects. We're looking for candidates who are able to work through their Spring and Summer semester.
This internship position will primarily be a remote position with the ability to go into the office on an as-needed basis. Candidates must be local or willing to re-locate to the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a college student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or Data Analytics during the duration of the internship. Recent college graduates are ineligible.
  • Current graduate-level students are encouraged to apply
  • Ideal interns are self-starters, energized by a fast-paced work environment, exercise exceptional judgment, enjoy working on teams, have excellent attention to detail, and are interested in improving health care delivery
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal stakeholders
  • Experience with UKG or other CRMs is highly preferred
  • Applicants must be able to work virtually and in person, as MAPMG guidelines permit.
