OVERVIEW
Support and promote Omega’s HSSE standards and policies at our client location in Austin, TX.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage onsite Safety Department (1 person).
- Attend and document pre-shift safety meetings with Omega team members.
- Perform and document stop -work actions as needed.
- Prepare reports for business unit and HSE regarding company performance.
- Perform work site observation and reviews and document corrective actions.
- Organize hazard hunts, document resolution of found issues.
- Perform presentation and training on site specific safety orientation.
- Verify compliance with Client and Omega EHS program and regulatory reporting documents.
- Monitor and report of safety targets.
- Verification employees have required training in place and schedule training for existing and new employees as required.
- Perform a weekly “sampling” review of Omega’s JSA’s
- Participate in investigation and follow-up of incidents/accidents; prepare notifications/reports for communication of significant incidents to company project/functional management per project incident reporting procedures.
- Communicate HSSE expectations to team members.
- Review and document all Incidents and near misses, communicate these to the BU and HSSE, assist in developing corrective actions as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree Safety, Environmental, Industrial Engineering/ Technology or a related field is a plus.
- Industry certifications are a plus (CHSO, OHST, ASP, CSP, Safe Land/IADC Rig Pass, First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30 hour, LOTO, Confined Space, Hazcom).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Safety Specialist role in an industrial environment.
- Must be knowledgeable of regulatory requirements and experienced in HSSE Management systems.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours including: possible mandatory overtime, weekends, nights and holidays
- Working knowledge of using hand and power tools
- Ability to work respectively with others and work independently
- Ability to climb stairs and work at elevations from (ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
- Ability to walk long distances and/or standing for long periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds
- Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
- Must have reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
