Job Description
(Uniform Color (UC)/Washington Penn/Audia Elastomers) is a subsidiary of the Audia Company, a global plastics leader that serves customers in the thermoplastics market worldwide.
The Regional HSE Manager leads The Audia Safety Way (our vision) through demonstrated leadership, a strong presence working with all the Audia team members and visibly influencing behaviors, conditions, and outcomes. This leadership role is responsible for performance trends, predicative indicators of high risks and responding to risk with process improvements and safer working techniques. This HSE Leader will build key cross functional relationships to educate, coach, and broaden the knowledge of best practices in the field of safety/environmental science. This key leadership role supports the organization in cultivating a culture of care where safety is a visible value demonstrated through daily actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish key organizational relationships and processes to facilitate the integration of the Audia Safety Way into Audia operations where dedicated HSE personnel are and in some cases are not present on site. Specifically,
- Serve as a member of Plant Leadership team(s), Regional or Business Leadership team, and the Global HSE Leadership team providing subject matter expertise and experience to problem solve HSE challenges that arise.
- Coach and develop Site Leadership Teams and Frontline leaders helping cultivate an environment of safety pros and accountability to the wellbeing of the Audia teams, equipment and plants.
- Facilitate the development and use of Job Hazard Analysis skills and techniques to identify and implement safe working techniques that reinforce the HSE standards, policies, guidelines and procedures as set out by the company and all regulatory agencies.
- Support completion of incident investigations, root cause analyses, developing action plans and maintaining records of closure of corrective actions; assist with maintaining the OSHA (or other) injury and illness recordkeeping and worker’s compensation injuries and return to work programs.
- Ensure compliance and maintenance of the environmental, safety and health management systems and 3rd party certifications and all regulatory requirements. Apply knowledge and experience to improve site HSE performance for each location within the region of responsibility.
- Coordinate responses to internal and external inquiries related to HSE including government agencies and insurance carriers
- Ensure a process is in place to generate and submit regulatory reports and to maintain site permits
- Coordinates and oversees the collection and assessment of Industrial Hygiene data, including ventilation and personnel monitoring, ergonomic risks and combustible dust compliance.
- Analyze data trends and provide input on growing risk areas to the HSE and Operational leadership groups.
- Conduct management of change reviews for the approval of new equipment, new materials, and new building designs.
- Supports Site Safety Committees and mentors/coach’s others with responsibility for HSE.
- Monitor and measure performance across the region, specifically,
- Through frequent on-site visits and assessments of compliance programs and practices and a close working relationship with site teams.
- Establish a process to ensure effective deployment of HSE training through onsite trainers and Audia’s LMS
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of HSE performance metrics for the region
- Prepare and or support the development and presentation of HSE performance reports for senior leaders
Preferred Experience, Education and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience motivating others, driving action, and getting results.
- Attentive to details and understand how the smallest details can yield the greatest outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or other related fields
- 7-10+ years of related EHS experience
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience with regulatory reporting
- Ability to travel up to 30%
