A Safety Intern at a CITGO Business Unit may be assigned to but not limited to Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Emergency Preparedness, Industrial Hygiene, Employee Health, and Contractor Safety. A Safety Intern actively works with the Business Unit safety and health professionals along with operations in their designated operating areas to implement, update, and improve the safety management system.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree / The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is:
- Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness, or Public Health.
- Must have completed 30 semester hours in the topics above.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Job Duties
Assist in field surveys/audits of business unit operations.Assist in the development and implement processes for tracking and analyzing HSE data, to expand trending and reporting capabilities which help identify opportunities for improvement in these fields.Developing HSE posters, HSE moment, HSE flashes, and other HSE-related training materials. Assist in improvement initiatives around contractor HSE incident management and utilization of ISNetworld.Enter data into a central database.Provide support for facility HSE Committee(s)/Team(s).Participate in HSE Management Systems review or facility's self-assessments.Perform special projects as requested.Employment Type: OTHER
