Human Resources/Quality Improvement Specialist


Description: The responsibility of the Human Resources/Quality Improvement Specialist is to provide support to agency leadership and to assist in all aspects of Human Resource and Quality Improvement activities.  This position will also have an active role in staff training and accreditation activities. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

 

Job Classification:  Professional non-exempt


Qualifications: 


  • Minimum of two years of experience in an executive assistant role.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to accurately follow and provide written and verbal instructions.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a human resources related role.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment law, organizational development and best practices.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Sound judgement
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; possess insured and reliable transportation.
  • It is not a prerequisite to employment to be a recovering alcoholic or drug addicted person. However, if you are in recovery, a minimum of at least two years of continuous sobriety, and/or free of chemicals, if previously chemical dependent, is required.
  • Pass a series of background checks.

 

Position Responsibilities: 

                       

  • The HR/QI Specialist reports directly to the Friendship House Executive Director and is responsible to support all programs and assist in the execution of the Strategic Plan.
  • Provides information necessary to allow for the completion of required reports for Region 3 surrounding Quality Improvement activities.
  • Track and report Critical Incident Reports in conjunction with the Risk Management Plan.
  • Attend relevant meetings in the absence of the Executive Director (Region 3 meetings, etc.)
  • Assist in accreditation related activities.
  • Coordinate credentialing activities for therapists.
  • Assist with policy revisions/updates.
  • Assist in the development and execution of fundraising and community events.
  • Evaluate opportunities to request and receive grant-funding for selected projects.
  • Identifies problems and actively works to find and implement solutions.
  • Attends all staff meetings, staff training and in-service trainings, and takes minutes.
  • Maintains website with current information.
  • Assist in planning/preparing for team building activities.
  • Ensures that the Director is informed of relevant information concerning workforce.
  • Maintain BambooHR Software, by keeping employee information up to date.
  • Posts job openings on relevant employment websites.
  • Recruiting and interviewing candidates.
  • Make hiring decisions.
  • Complete new employee paperwork and orientation with new hires.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Set up new employees in BambooHR, email, Pro Training, and Relias Training
  • Scan and attach documents in BambooHR software.
  • Completion of background checks on potential new employees and every two years for current employees.
  • Maintenance of Relias training curriculum, per Region 3 contract and licensing requirements.
  • Responsible to remain up-to-date on Dept. of Labor regulations and changes.
  • Maintain compliance with required Dept. of Labor posters.
  • Administer benefits, including Edward Jones and TASC.
  • Ensure Performance Reviews are completed by supervisors within designated timelines.
  • Prepares/orders promotional materials for agency.
  • Handle day-to-day human resource and quality improvement activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure confidentiality according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 C.F.R. part 2
  • In the event of the Executive Director’s absence, the HR/QI Specialist will provide assistance to employees, along with the Finance Director.
  • Support the agency by performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
