Summary:
The HR/People Coordinator, Shared Services role is responsible for administering the HR/People activities for Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors (MMC), Northern Air Corporation Mechanical and Electrical Services (NAC), Tessier's and Grunau. This includes but is not limited to supporting our core values and culture, wage & salary administration, benefits coordination, recruiting and staffing, onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining the creation and integrity of all employee information.
Job Specifics:
- Coordinate the recruiting and selection process for exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Coordinate pre-employment and random background tests and drug testing processes.
- Oversee new hire onboarding, orientation and setups in company and vendor systems for union and non-union employees.
- Support wage and salary administration including processing rate and position changes.
- Leave of Absence administration.
- Assist with IDP, annual and mid-year performance review processes to ensure evaluations are scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
- Administer employee benefit programs in concert with APi Group Benefit team to support enrollments, cancellations, life event status changes and other tasks as assigned from partners
- Process terminations and perform offboarding activities.
- Process unemployment claims.
- Employee file maintenance to ensure legal compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:
- BA/BS in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience and education.
- 2+ years of Human Resources support experience
- Ability to handle issues, problem solve, and make decisions based on common sense, background research, and sensitivity.
- Experience and understanding of what providing superior customer service looks like
- Capacity to work on a high performing team, with increasing responsibilities and opportunities (if desired)
- Skilled at managing many tasks / multitasking.
- Positive attitude
- Driven to help others win
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Up to 25% travel across SD, MN and WI, as necessary
