Under the direction of the Employee Relations (ER) Manager, the HR Employee Relations Assistant is responsible for performing entry level personnel administration work to support the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Program and the ADA Reasonable Accommodation process. In addition, this position may serve as the Arizona State Employee Drivers Record Application (ASEDRA) Coordinator; may oversee the agency's program and policies related to:
- Fingerprint Clearance Card program,
- Secondary Employment program,
- Modified Duty ,
- Long Term Disability
- Worker's Compensation.
Bi-Lingual Stipend
DCS offers a Bi-Lingual Stipend to all interested and eligible DCS Employees who successfully complete a language proficiency exam. Qualifying employees will receive a $500 annual stipend paid in equal increments.

- Performs day-to-day FMLA Program activities which includes providing general information to employees, sending FMLA reports to regions, sending FMLA/MLA packets, requesting validation for medical documents, and follows up with employees returning to work through written correspondence, phone calls, and emails.
- Acts as a liaison between the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), employees and supervisors to obtain and provide information regarding Worker's Compensation.
- Support the ASEDRA and Clearance Card Tracking System (CCTS) databases to identify suspended drivers' licenses and coordinates with employees/supervisors as necessary. Provides Fleet Management with pertinent information regarding tickets, accidents, etc. Prepares correspondence letters regarding driver's license advisories/updates/possible license suspension, etc.
- Monitors and tracks fingerprint clearance card expirations and coordinates with field staff to obtain updates. Reviews fingerprint denial letters, sends fingerprint clearance cards to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) for validation. Prepares and sends fingerprint clearance card reports to personnel liaisons. Updates fingerprint card information in CCTS and Human Resource Information Solution (HRIS).
- Coordinates with employee and management team to process secondary employment. Sends approval or denial letters and uploads them to OnBase.
- May serve as back up for FMLA and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) program. Updates the team's performance measures (huddle board) related to employee relations.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in HR and/or have worked in an administrative support position.
Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record check, must maintain acceptable driving record and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current. Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed, if applicable.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
