Job description

We are seeking a Business Services Analyst. The HRSS Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the functional SAP processes and procedures as related to HR/Payroll Shared Services by initiating updates to SAP and incorporating the changes into business processes. Additionally, the HRSS Business Analyst will represent HR Shared Services in large scale project initiatives related to SAP functionality. The candidate must have the ability to meet and manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of HR SAP functionality including how the HR module interfaces with other SAP modules and systems.
  • Leads HRSS project planning to build understanding and adoption planning. Provides input and guidance from the end-user perspective.
  • Conducts stakeholder analysis and impact assessment with HRSS Management team to accurately identify stakeholder groups that are impacted by change and to ensure that change management plans are targeted correctly; utilizes presentations and discussions at stakeholder and user meetings, email communication and other channels to gather additional input and inform plans.
  • Liaises with SAP HR Technical team (Enterprise Business Solutions) and divisional HR offices to identify necessary organizational change management activities and incorporates them as critical milestones/dependencies in project plans.
  • Lead project teams of varying size through data updates related to project objectives.
  • After initial project completion, transitions ongoing support to HRSS teams. Ensures needed documentation and training is in place for these teams.
  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures and assisting with training staff and customers as needed.
  • Compiles and documents lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement and adjust future projects as appropriate.
  • Utilize project management software/tools to deliver projects timely.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Lead all Support Pack and testing initiatives related to SAP system changes with EBS in coordination with HR/Payroll Management Team.
  • Monitor and initiate updates to website.
  • Assist management with establishing and improving upon defined HR/Payroll procedures and processing methods to efficiently and accurately meet production and performance goals.
  • Direct work of HR Shared Services Sr. Representatives related to projects and business process changes.
  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing workable solutions to business issues with the assistance of HR Managers.
  • Work with all staff members within HR shared services to create and manage effective relationships within the unit and build relationships enterprise-wide.
  • Responsible for creating a work environment that maintains confidentiality.
  • Provide support to HR/Payroll teams as needed on meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, business or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable work experience in Human Resources, Project Management, Information Systems or Business Management.
  • A minimum of one year experience working in an enterprise resource planning environment or other HRIS/HRMS position.
  • PMP Certification.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
