Job description

**Shift: Thursday - Monday 8am - 5pm**

What You’ll Do:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide guidance to internal and external parties regarding Human Resource questions that maximizes satisfaction and enhances U.S. Xpress’ reputation every day. Our goal is to provide professional, timely, accurate, and consistent services to all parties contacting U.S. Xpress Human Resources. The position requires knowledge of policies, processes, procedures, and systems utilized within Human Resources.

· Answer incoming calls and respond to customer's emails. Provide guidance and assistance to internal and external parties requesting any Human Resource (HR) related information and services.

· Apply in depth research and analysis using all available resources and problem-solving skills to ensure timely and accurate response to final decision point for completion of customer inquiries.

· Perform thorough audit and activation of all driver hires including new hires, rehires, reinstatements and transfers within the designated applications.

· Process all electronic driver employee change notifications (ECN) in a timely and accurate manner.

Includes, but not limited to:

o General employee changes including name, address, tax updates, etc.

o Position, compensation, reporting, etc.

o Inter-company transfers for subsidiary companies.

· Complete termination requests within applicable systems; correct file feed exceptions; and respond to all DAC rebuttals and DriverFacts Exceptions.

· Create and/or delete agents / dummy records within applicable systems.

· Process Rider and Pet Policy agreements for Drivers.

· Maintain a general tax withholding knowledge and process complicated tax withholdings including Multistate and county tax home and work state withholdings.

· Follow up to request missing paperwork for new hires and other HR related documents.

· Respond to employment verification requests (mail, electronic and/or telephonic) timely and accurately.

· Complete I-9 e-verifications for new drivers and onsite document inspections for office new hire employees.

· Review, distribute, and complete all HR related mail.

· Create and distribute new hire badges for all locations requiring badge entry.

· Work with team to complete weekly, monthly, and annual reporting and audits as needed.

· Respond to wage verification request in a timely manner.

· Participate in departmental, divisional, and corporate initiatives as assigned.

· Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.

· Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives and participate in such discussions by offering input and advice.

· Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication and expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

· Minimum of 1 year experience performing general data entry duties preferred.

· Experience in the transportation industry a plus.

Skills/Certifications

· Exceptional customer focus, interpersonal, verbal/written communications skills required.

· Proven ability to learn and effectively use multiple transactional business applications (DriverFacts, Infinium, TenStreet and Tracker I-9 preferred).

· Ability to multi-task and appropriate role-base decision-making ability required.

· Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
