Role:
To prepare, process, and review payroll, salary adjustments, payroll taxes, and year-end processing; and maintain the human resources database to encompass salary and benefit information. To administer benefit programs ensuring timely enrollment and reconcilement of billing. To prepare payroll and benefit GL reconciliations and payroll accruals for accounting department.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Maintains the human resources database to include payroll and benefit information; processes biweekly payroll and audits payroll reports to ensure accuracy for salary increases, benefit and payroll deductions, and payroll adjustments. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to accounting for reconciliations of payroll and benefits GLs and payroll accruals for branch allocations.
- Administers benefit programs including 401(k) retirement, long-term disability, life insurance, dental, health, and supplemental benefits; reconcile billing and GL's to reflect new enrollments, terminations, and salary changes, etc. Administers incentive program for front and back office staff.
- Conducts new hire onboarding, benefits processing, bondability and background investigations. Administers system user access with IS, Operations, accounting and training, for new hires and position changes.
- Manages and administers HR systems including but not limited to: automated timekeeping and employee HR portal, Compease, UPS CampusShip, including systems updates, assisting employees with resetting passwords and system use. HR system administrator for business continuity in the Jack Henry COPE portal, and employee notification system. Assists in administration of the SHINE wellness program.
- Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, administers the salary administration program for the credit union, including calculation of salary changes; communicates to supervisors about performance review deadlines. Maintains personnel files of the credit union, providing information for reports to management and completes salary surveys.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - Three years to five years of similar or related experience
Education - (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills- Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills - 1. Advanced knowledge and proficient use of Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and HTML; effective verbal and written communication skills. 2. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 3. Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax, and telephone. 4. Excellent organization skills. 5. Must maintain a high level of professionalism and have proven presentation skills.
Physical Requirements - Ability to work extensively at a computer monitor with concentration and accuracy. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ambulatory Ability to see, hear and speak clearly.
