Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Serves as subject matter expert in assigned areas.
Time & Labor Analysis
  • Monitor the agency's time and leave system to include monitoring policies and compliance with all state and governmental entities while overseeing and verifying the integrity and accuracy of new hire and current employee information.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence and communicate to internal and external stakeholders including State Accounting Office and Human Resources Administration as needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers throughout the DPH to ensure time and leave records are updated and accurate.
  • Ensure all military leave, education leave, hazardous weather, etc., requests are processed timely.
  • Work with supervisors and appropriate HR personnel on complex time and leave issues.
Payroll Administration
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll Shared Services to research payroll issues.
  • Provide information and answer employee questions regarding payroll-related matters.
FMLA Administration
  • Assist Benefits Generalist to review, submit and complete required FMLA paperwork including determining leave eligibility, requesting medical certification as applicable and tracking intermittent and reduced work schedule.
  • Assist with the facilitation of accommodation requests under the ADA.
Other
  • Assist with employment verifications.
  • Maintain employee Medical and Legal Licensure report.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Secondary Employment report.
  • Assist with special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR Four years of human resource experience.Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.
The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
Employment Information
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
