Craig Realty Group is a real estate development company leading in the development and management of upscale factory outlet centers. Our corporate office is located in Newport Beach.
We are looking for a HR Manager to join our team, The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.
Develops Human Resources policies and programs for the Company and its affiliates. The major areas of emphasis are employment, employee communications, employee services and employee relations. Assists and advises senior management on Human Resources issues by performing all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Craig Realty Group's policies and procedures and all State and Federal regulations. This position works closely with all levels of senior management, particularly the Vice President of Real Estate Operations and the Regional Asset Manager. This position supports the Vice President and General Counsel and Director HR in all aspects of Human Resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the HR Manager include:
- Assists in monitoring and minimizing the legal exposure of the Company and its affiliates by identifying legal practices, requirements and government reporting regulations pertaining to the Human Resources function (e.g., Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Fair Pay Act, EEO, OSHA, Postings in the Workplace, etc...).
- Recommends and implements policies, programs, and practices for the Company and its affiliates, keeping senior management informed of new regulations, laws, and other best practices for policies and the workplace.
- Coordinates all aspects of employment including placing advertisements, screening resumes, interviewing, extending employment offers, conducting background investigations, and provides support to management in such activities.
- Conducts new hire and benefits orientations for corporate staff and in the field when necessary.
- Researches and recommends to management compensation levels and market compensation for varying positions.
- Conducts and assists management with corrective counseling and employee disciplinary problem-solving resolutions.
- Conducts exit interviews for voluntary resignations for corporate or any other managers within the field.
- Participates in department staff meetings and attends other meetings, as needed.
- Approves monthly companywide directory for distribution.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department regarding legal matters on a regular basis.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisory responsibilities over human resource coordinator(s) and human resources generalist. Also serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-10 years' experience in the human resources field
