Description
The Human Resources Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering and managing the company's benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, supplemental, 401(k), and wellness plans. The Human Resources Benefits Specialist effectively develops and delivers benefits communication and education, provides excellent customer service to team members and managers, answers benefits-related inquiries, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
As a Murdoch's Team Member in this role, you will...

- Administer and manage the company's benefits programs, including enrollment, termination, changes, and claims support.
- Communicate and educate team members and managers on benefits policies, procedures, and options, and help them make informed decisions that best suit their needs.
- Fully manage the monthly benefits enrollment process for newly eligible team members, including benefits orientation sessions.
- Lead the planning, administration and communication of annual open enrollment, and other benefits changes throughout the year.
- Maintain benefits administration systems and vendor integrations.
- Reconcile and process benefits invoices and payments.
- Assist with benefits audits, reporting, and compliance activities
- Research and resolve benefits-related issues and escalate complex cases as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other HR team members and external vendors to provide a seamless and positive benefits experience.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to team members on how to access and utilize their benefits effectively.
- Stay current on benefits trends, best practices, and legislation and recommend changes or enhancements as appropriate.
- Work closely with and provide support to other HR team members, especially related to compensation, payroll, leave of absences and worker's compensation.
Requirements
As a Murdochian in this role, you must...
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information in a clear and concise manner.
- Have a basic knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, etc.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Have a strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a bachelor's degree or two years of equivalent experience in benefits, human resources, or general business.
