Adecco is assisting a Local Company in hiring for an HR Benefits / LOA Specialist in Phoenix, AZ.
This position is onsite.
This position is a Direct Hire role.
The anticipated wage for this position is between $22 and $27. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
Job Summary:
The HR Benefits/LOA Specialist administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. The HR Benefits/LOA Specialist provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, Human Resources Information System (HRIS) entry, COBRA administration, and FMLA and other leave administration.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
· Resolves day-to-day benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations.
· Enters new hire employee benefit enrollment profiles into the HRIS.
· Answers employee questions about general human resources matters such as insurance, payroll, hiring procedures, and company policy. Referrals are made to leadership when necessary.
· Responsible for processing and validating leaves of absence, benefit changes etc. for payroll purposes.
· Manages the Benefits Hotline voicemail.
· May assist leader to engage with employees in need of workers' compensation benefits and communicates claims to insurance company.
· Responsible for COBRA administration by notifying eligible persons, communicating with third party administrator to enroll eligible participants and /or terminate coverage.
· Responsible for day-to-day administration of DMG's leave of absence program including FMLA, Medical LOA, Personal Leave, etc.
· Responds to requests for verifications of employment (VOEs) from external parties.
· Assists HR Department in maintaining accurate and complete personnel records. Ensures that the rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
· Communicates with new employees regarding benefit enrollment information and follows up with them to ensure they get enrolled properly.
· Assists HR Leadership with annual benefit renewal process including enrollment procedures.
· Provides coverage for the HR Coordinator front desk duties.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
· Effective time management skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
· Ability to perform under pressure without compromising quality of service and/or accuracy/attention to detail.
· A positive, professional demeanor.
· Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, assuming duties as necessary to meet business needs.
· Ability to work independently with little direction (self-starter).
· Strong computer skills especially in spreadsheets/data reporting (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Strong problem-solving abilities.
· Knowledge of employment laws.
· Understanding of COBRA and FMLA laws and regulations.
· Understanding/compliance of HIPAA laws and regulations.
Education or Equivalency
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Professional certification or pursuit of certification (preferred)

Experience Requirements:
· FMLA and benefits experience preferred.
· Knowledge and/or experience with electronic HR and Benefit systems highly preferred.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
