Job Description:
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth administration of employee benefits and payroll processes within the organization. This position involves managing employee benefit programs, handling payroll-related tasks, and maintaining compliance with legal regulations. The ideal candidate will be located within the Maryland, DC, or Northern Virginia areas.
Responsibilities: - Handle payroll processing for multistate employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Perform data entry, uploads, and other transactional tasks related to payroll processing while maintaining confidentiality and meeting critical deadlines.
- Audit and reconcile payroll data, taxes, and deductions.
- Administer and facilitate benefits-related administrative tasks such as new hire explanations, enrollment support, open enrollment facilitation, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Perform audits and reconciliations to guarantee accuracy in benefit elections and deductions.
- Manage benefit-related invoicing and payments.
- Collaborate with employees, HR, and third-party providers to resolve benefits-related issues.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend monthly in-person meetings in the HQ location in Woodbridge, VA.
- Minimum of two years of benefit administration and direct payroll processing experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, multi-entity organization preferred.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Payroll processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance.
- Experience using Ceridian Dayforce for payroll and timekeeping is preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and a high level of attention to detail and is proactive.
- Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formulas functions (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables, IF statements) and MS Word
- Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, meet all deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills: The ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required and thrives when given multiple projects.
