HR Assistant-Operations Business Partner (on site)

Job purpose

The Human Resource Assistant for Operations is an HR entry level (non exempt) position with opportunity for growth. This individual is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level for our Operations segment of Furnitureland South. They will work closely with senior HR management as well as collaborate with the HR team to support HR functions of the company in Operations as well as initiating process improvements, efficiencies and strategic visions. This position may carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, organizational development and learning, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment, and onboarding of Operations positions such as warehousing and delivery drivers. This Associate may be expected to flex a schedule so they can have visibility to each shift.

Essential Functions and responsibilities

1. Serve as HR resource for the Operations segment of the company
2. Recruit and onboard Operations positions including but not limited to: Warehouse workers, delivery drivers and customer service
3. Work closely with Payroll on auditing and submitting time
4. Assists Associates in navigating the HRIS including resetting passwords and instructing how to use mobile as well as desktop access
5. Leads the utilization of additional modules and tools available in our HRIS as well as training of Associates on processes.
6. Assists in benefits administration, including communicating benefits information to employees and assisting with their enrollment via the HRIS
7. Producing annual MVR’s for drivers
8. Manage the process and organization of medical cards and other driving requirements for drivers
9. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

Required Education and Experience

• An Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
2. College level coursework in the studies of Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, etc.
3. HR Certification

Working conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This person will physically be located in the Operations area which is within the Warehouse/Distribution Center. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
