Overview
Responsible for assisting with human resource functions in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards. The scope of human resource responsibility includes: recruitment, file management and compliance, data entry, orientation and training assistance, and all functions of the human resources department as directed by supervisor.
Responsibilities
1. Assists departments in targeting recruitment efforts including advertising or posting of
job vacancies, select applicants meeting specified job requirements, and interviewing job
applicants to obtain and verify information used to screen and evaluate them.
2. Conduct new hire orientation to explain company personnel policies, benefits, and
procedures to employees.
3. Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including legally required
documents, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee
leaves of absence.
4. Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, absences,
supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
5. Answer questions regarding eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information.
6. Collect information from regulatory offices, previous employers, and other references to
determine applicants' employment acceptability.
7. Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's
compensation plans.
8. Inform job applicants of their acceptance or rejection of employment. Maintain
applications as required by record retention policy.
9. Conduct criminal background checks
10. Coordinate scheduling of performance evaluations and track in database.
11. Update all software and websites on employees leaving the Village, and conducts exit
interviews, as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
Two to four years related experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.18 - $18.29 per hour
