Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function:
Provides Professional Human Resources services throughout the employment cycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Professional Human Resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR or SHRM-CP
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares, reviews and processes, all requests for vacancy posting and ensures all administrative requirements, required advertisements and notifications are completed.
Train, advise and assists hiring managers by guiding them through the posting, requisition and hiring processes, including providing information about applicable statutes, policies or rules.
Coordinates employment background check process. Initiates, tracks and reviews backgrounds to ensure compliance with applicable statutes, policies and procedures.
Prepares, analyzes, processes, and corrects human resources transactions and documents for employee appointments, promotions, demotions, reclassifications, separations, terminations, transfers, retirement, and information changes
Advises internal and external applicants on the hiring process and responds to inquiries related to requisitions, status and the hiring process.
Ensures that required records are compiled and stored in a manner consistent with applicable statutes, policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining requisition files and initial creation of the personnel file from the hiring documentation.
Compile, prepare, process and submit all required reports including recurring reports and special requests.
Supports human resource activities including, but not limited to, ticketing and reservations, reception planning, and processing payroll for performers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of general human resources practices
Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.
Skill in analyzing and evaluating various HR related issues.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong computer skills, to include database management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, e-mail, and the internet.
