An esteemed community center dedicated to providing social services to homeless adults who may be living with developmental disabilities is currently seeking qualified Housing Specialists for their housing program in Queens. The Housing Specialist will be responsible for providing case management services to adults experiencing homelessness in efforts to secure permanent housing. The base pay range for this position is $20 to $22 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. Responsibilities:
- Provide housing and case management services for mentally ill adults
- Work in collaboration to secure permanent, supported housing for participants
- Provide case management and other related services
- Conduct housing application packages and eligibility assessments
- Complete comprehensive assessments, service plans, progress notes
- Monitor and reassess clients’ needs for referrals and services
- Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, client-centered services are delivered
Qualifications:
- Must have an Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience working with the homeless population preferred
- Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness, substance abuse and/or co-occurring diseases preferred
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
