QHC is seeking an energetic person to join our Project HOME housing navigation team. Housing navigation is the key to helping those experiencing housing insecurity find and maintain housing stability. Navigators work closely with community partners, landlords, and tenants to provide the accessibility and support to be successful in their housing.
This is a full-time position starting at $45,760 with a top-tier health insurance plan, 48 days Paid Time Off Per year, (30 days PTO & 18 paid holidays, including the week between December 25-January 2nd), a Portland parking pass and flexible schedule.
● Facilitate intakes and prepare each client for permanent housing.
● Streamline the rental assistance process for each resident.
● Facilitate the Project HOME unit check-ins and team meetings for each resident.
● Input program data and draft progress reports.
● Work with the team to engage in restorative housing practices to prevent evictions.
● Skilled with empathetic and direct communication in person and on the phone.
● Knowledge/experience with the systems that intersect housing and homelessness - TANF, MaineCare, SNAP, Section 8/Housing Choice Vouchers, General Assistance.
● Fluency in French/Portuguese/Lingala preferred.
- Fluency with Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Drivers license and vehicle.
