Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Coordinator to join our Housing Stabilization Services team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in achieving housing stability and overcoming homelessness. This role involves providing comprehensive support, guidance, and coordination of housing-related services, ensuring that clients have access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Assessment and Case Management: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' housing needs, preferences, and barriers to stable housing. Develop and implement individualized housing stabilization plans in collaboration with clients. Provide ongoing case management and support to ensure progress towards housing stability.
- Housing Resource Coordination: Research and identify available housing resources, maintain a comprehensive database of options, and assist clients with housing applications and related paperwork.
- Landlord and Tenant Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with landlords, advocate on behalf of clients, and mediate conflicts when necessary.
- Financial Assistance and Budgeting: Assist clients in accessing financial assistance programs and provide budgeting education to empower clients in maintaining housing stability.
- Community Referrals and Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external partners to address clients' holistic needs and make appropriate referrals to supportive services.
- Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate client records and compile regular reports on program outcomes.
Additional Duties:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the housing program.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage tenant applications, screenings, and lease agreements.
- Conduct property inspections and coordinate maintenance.
- Provide crisis intervention and support services to tenants.
- Collaborate with community organizations to provide resources and referrals.
- Utilize property management software to maintain accurate records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in case management, housing assistance, or homelessness prevention services.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in data entry and record-keeping.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to serving diverse populations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required).
Qualifications (Continued):
- Knowledge of fair housing regulations, landlord-tenant law, and other relevant laws.
- Experience with motivational interviewing and crisis intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with property management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in addiction counseling or related fields is a plus.
- Knowledge of LIHTC program is preferred.

Pay: $20.61 - $25.82 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
