`First Presbyterian Church is a 100-year-old church and a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA). FPC is a warm and welcoming congregation of all ages with worship services that are primarily held at 8:30 and 11:00 am on Sunday mornings and active programs throughout the week.
Position: Housekeeping Service Provider
Compensation: Position is 40 hours per week, with benefits provided. Annual salary will range between $40,000-$45,000 depending upon qualifications for the position. Hours are primarily afternoon and evening, with flexibility required to work around the church event schedule.
Purpose: To provide primary Housekeeping Services for the church, which may include but are not limited to cleaning, furniture and equipment set-up for various events and activities conducted within church property, and cleaning following those activities.
Accountability: The Housekeeping Service Provider is accountable to the Facilities Manager, as well as the Personnel Committee and Pastor.
Responsibilities:
1. Clean and maintain cleanliness of the Sanctuary, Chapel, Fellowship Hall, offices, entrances, lobbies, hallways, classrooms, library, nursery, bathrooms, kitchens, choir room, parlor, Youth Building, and any other assigned spaces at all times.
2. Canvas the grounds no less than five days per week to eliminate debris, trash, and maintain a clean exterior of the church grounds.
3. Sweep floors, empty trash cans, clean windows, polish brass door and window fixtures, etc., as needed.
4. Coordinate with the Facilities Manager to keep adequate supplies of housekeeping materials on hand.
5. Assist in preparing for special events (funerals, weddings, Bible-study groups, etc.) by preparing beverages, setting up tables, and cleaning spaces afterwards.
6. Work alongside the Facilities Manager to determine a schedule, assist in maintaining security of buildings and grounds.
7. As needed, provide support to Beach Day School when assistance is required.
8. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager and Pastor.
Evaluation: Performance reviews will be conducted periodically by the Facilities Manager, in conjunction with the Pastor and Personnel Committee. Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Previous housekeeping experience in a church or business setting required. Basic technology literacy is preferred, particularly digital calendar usage, texting, and email
