SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the supervision of the hourly Housekeeping Staff to ensure the cleanliness of the property.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree required and a minimum of two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position involves driving a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required, along with successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines. Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy. Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.
  • Supervise room attendants, public space attendants, house persons, supervisors and linen attendants.
  • Supports the daily shifts operation of housekeeping / public space.
  • Ensures guest rooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained.
  • Completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action.
  • Liaise with front office to ensure guest room’s status is communicated on a timely manner.
  • Supports and Supervises an effective inspection program for all guest rooms and public space.
  • Supervises daily housekeeping shift operations and ensures compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures
  • Providing and ensuring exceptional customer service
  • Ability to responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Flexible and dependable.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, training, motivating, performance reviews, scheduling and payroll for housekeeping staff.
  • Coordinate and manage special project assignments (deep cleaning, mattress flip, public space, etc.)
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meeting with staff.
  • Ensure that all security policies and procedures are observed and enforced (keys, locks, etc.), inventory, chemicals, lost and found, etc.
  • Ensure departmental standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Perform daily inspections (Rooms & Public Space) and address discrepancies with appropriate persons and departments.
  • Monitor Visual One for early outs, pickups and discrepancies. Update room status via applicable company systems.
  • Communicate all ANCI rooms to supervisors and room attendants, follow-up until rooms are completed and available to guests.
  • Perform weekly Housekeeping supply inventory. Notify Director of Housekeeping of supply needs.
  • Review daily business levels in advance and plan accordingly.
  • Perform monthly performance checks on all applicable Housekeeping staff.
  • Review employee time records daily for accuracy.
  • Update monthly NPS tracking report. Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner. Communicate NPS information to staff.
  • Ensure all equipment in assigned area is maintained in a clean and working order.
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping coordinator.
  • Maintain updated information on resume requirements.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are properly completed.
  • Communicate matters of significance to Housekeeping Leadership,
  • Answer office telephones as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of housekeeping reports.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Knowledgeable of Ecolab product/pesticides.
  • Knowledgeable with departmental and property emergency procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises Housekeeping Supervisors, Coordinators and hourly Housekeeping Staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
